11-year-old Alexander Xiong was originally just one among over 160 contestants who had submitted toy ideas to the 2017 Fat Brain Toys Kidventor contest. As the contest went on, Alexander’s idea only continued to outshine the competition, first winning him a spot among the five finalists and then finally winning him the grand prize – a $2,500 scholarship, $500 in toys, a trip to the 2018 Toy Fair, and the chance to have his invention sold around the world!
"Alexander's invention stood out from the rest because of its simple genius," said Karen, "but also because it was inspired by his love for his sister, who has autism." What is Door Pong? Essentially, it's a no-fail version of ping pong, but also, it's a brilliant way to help kids strengthen their coordination and motor skills while giving their confidence and self-esteem a big boost.
